A new system update is available for all owners of the PlayStation 5 console, which also enables some new things.
The most important improvements in the new update are the following:
- No more beeps – you can mute the sound (three levels) or turn off the sound when you turn on the console; Support for higher capacity
- M.2 drives – in PS5 you can install an additional drive of up to eight terabytes, double the capacity of the previous one;
- Dolby Atmos support – in case you have a device that supports Dolby Atmos sound (TV, soundbar, etc.), it can now take full advantage of 3D sound;
- Auxiliary controller – on the bivou system you can activate another controller and use it for assistance, e.g. if you want to play a single-player game together, both players can participate in the same game, each with their own controller;
- Search in the game database – in the Game Library you have the possibility to search the games you own, by name;
- Ability to react to messages – you can leave reactions to text messages of PS contacts in the form of emoticons;
- Vibration in menus – you can turn on the option to vibrate the controller when navigating through the main interface of the console;
- Invitations to join a group – it is possible to invite a player to a group without automatic addition; open or closed group invitations can be sent in groups;
- Easier joining friends – a list has been introduced where you can see which friends or groups you can currently join in playing.
In addition to this, PlayStation 5 supports multiple devices for Remote Play. Specifically, the PS Remote Play app is available on TVs running Android 12. Remote Play support for Chromecast (4K model) has also been added.
