Media Certification Now Open for NASA Missions – Certification has officially begun for the upcoming launch of NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope and the agency’s SpaceX Crew-13 mission, both set to launch in the next few months.
The Roman Space Telescope is set to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, scheduled for 7:20 a.m. ET on Sunday, August 30th. This groundbreaking observatory, named after NASA’s first chief astronomer, promises to deliver deep, panoramic views of the cosmos, offering unprecedented images and transforming our understanding of the universe.
The Crew-13 mission is slated for mid-September and will lift off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This mission will send NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, CSA astronaut Joshua Kutlik, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Tetelyatnikov to the International Space Station for an expedition focused on scientific research. This marks NASA’s 13th commercial crew rotation mission, utilizing SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft.
