Away’s New Series 3 Luggage Plays It Safe—and That’s the Point
Away’s Series 3 luggage focuses on practical upgrades rather than a radical redesign. The updated collection adds more adjustable handle positions, easier interior access, extra organization, and new personalization options while keeping the brand’s signature compression system unchanged.
A More Adjustable Trolley Handle
The Infinite Height Trolley handle now offers five times more stopping points than before, creating a more personalized fit for travelers of different heights. The handle hooks are another small but useful addition: Each hook can hold up to 11 pounds, making it suitable for hanging jackets, wallets, or airport food bags.
More Organized Interiors
Away also redesigned the interior cover so it opens outward for easier access. Additional pockets help organize smaller items, while a dedicated pouch accommodates Bluetooth trackers. Accessories designed to keep luggage tidy round out the updates, while Away’s signature compression system remains unchanged.
New Colors and Customization Options
Personalization is a major part of the Series 3 collection. In addition to Away’s standard colors, the luggage comes in electric iris purple, chocolate, and chartreuse.
The handle and wheels are removable, allowing travelers to customize their luggage with different styles and making repairs more convenient. A D-ring provides another way to attach accessories such as luggage tags or charms.
Series 3 Sizes and Styles
Series 3 Classic Style is available in carry-on, large carry-on, medium, large, and trunk sizes. Expandable Flex styles are available in the same sizes, excluding the trunk.
A New Signature Bag Collection
Away has also launched its Signature Bag collection, which includes tote bags, weekender bags, commuter backpacks, duffel bags, and under-seat bags.
An evolution of Away’s Everywhere series, the new bags use durable nylon that is lighter and softer. Updated hardware includes zippers and a reverse-coil zipper on the laptop compartment for added protection. Hidden pockets provide quick access to frequently used items, and a water bottle pocket adds everyday convenience.
The laptop compartment has also moved to the outside of the bag, making it easier to access during airport security.
Our Take on Away Series 3
There’s nothing ground-breaking about Away’s new luggage. Many of these features are available from other brands, which makes the Series 3 collection feel more like Away catching up than setting a new standard.
Still, Away has built on the strengths of an already well-received product. The improved handle, additional organization, easier access, and customization options make the luggage more convenient without changing what already works. For many travelers, those practical refinements may matter more than adding a battery.
