Razer Barracuda V2 Pro Review: A Versatile Headset for Work, Music, and Gaming
I transition between different audio setups depending on the day. I listen to music with earphones, but they tend to fall out when I talk, so I often go into meetings without them. When I need to speak during a virtual meeting in a noisy environment, I reach for a reliable headset with a high-quality microphone—but call quality is often compromised outside of gaming.
I enjoy using my light-up kitty-ear headset while gaming, but I don’t necessarily want to wear it in a coffee shop or professional setting. That’s where the Razer Barracuda V2 Pro comes in. This elegant, versatile headset is designed to work for music, gaming, virtual meetings, and everyday use.

The Barracuda V2 Pro feels more like a quality pair of over-ear headphones than a traditional gaming headset. During testing, I regularly used it to listen to music. The sound is clear and balanced. Bass and treble quality are somewhat degraded, but the overall performance remains completely acceptable.
Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation
Hybrid active noise canceling (ANC) is one of the Barracuda V2 Pro’s strongest features. Press the multifunction button to switch between Ambient, ANC On, and ANC Off modes.
A long press launches your voice assistant. You can customize the headset through Razer Synapse software for Windows and Mac or the Razer Audio smartphone app. Customization options include toggling ANC modes, adjusting Bluetooth volume, and using a voice assistant. You can also choose what each button does when pressed.
Audio Controls and Connection Options
Razer Audio lets you fine-tune the equalizer and switch between Movie, Music, Game, and Default presets with the press of a button. Pressing the same button twice switches between connection modes, including Bluetooth, HyperSpeed Wireless, and simultaneous listening.
The Barracuda V2 Pro also supports a wired connection through the included cable, giving you another way to use the headset for work, music, or gaming.
