NASA Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition Program: Webinar on Earth Observation Data and Research
NASA’s Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition Program (CSDA) provides licensed access to high-quality commercial Earth observation data. The program also improves data quality through calibration and validation (cal/val) partnerships, transparent assessments, and support for science and application use cases that transform commercial satellite data into practical research and applied solutions.
Expanding NASA’s Earth Observation Data Resources
The CSDA program complements NASA’s gold-standard fleet of freely and openly available Earth observation satellite observations and data products. It adds access to high-resolution, high-frequency, and taskable commercial datasets for scientific and applied research.
What the CSDA Webinar Covers
During this webinar, speakers will provide an overview of the CSDA program’s activities and progress, including:
- Commercial Earth observation data modalities available through the program
- Updates to the data evaluation process
- New calibration and validation initiatives
- The status of existing task orders with CSDA data providers
- End-user license agreement types
- Data availability and access
- New data archive and tasking capabilities in Satellite Data Explorer
- User engagement opportunities
- New learning resources
Supporting the Use of Commercial Satellite Data
By combining commercial datasets with NASA’s openly available Earth observation resources, the CSDA program supports research, data evaluation, user engagement, and the development of practical applications based on commercial satellite observations.
