NASA astronauts Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Reed Wiseman, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, will receive the Congressional Space Medal of Honor from President Donald J. Trump on August 28, 2026. The astronauts are being recognized for their extraordinary contributions and performance during NASA’s Artemis II mission.
Established by Congress in 1969, the Congressional Space Medal of Honor honors astronauts who demonstrate exceptional bravery, achieve meritorious results during space missions, and make significant contributions to the welfare of the United States and humanity. Since the beginning of the U.S. space program, 34 astronauts have received the prestigious award, including the Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia crews, who were honored posthumously.
