NASA astronaut Jessica Meir and French astronaut Sophie Adenot have completed the sixth all-woman spacewalk in history outside the International Space Station (ISS).
The six-and-a-half-hour spacewalk involved critical work on the orbiting laboratory. Meir traveled to the work site aboard the station’s Canadarm2 robotic arm, while Adenot remained securely tethered to the International Space Station.
Meir previously made history in 2019 alongside NASA astronaut Christina Koch, when they completed the first all-female spacewalk.
The mission marked the 284th spacewalk dedicated to International Space Station assembly, maintenance, and upgrades, as well as the seventh spacewalk of the year.
