Claude is experiencing an outage that is causing errors and failed requests for users accessing multiple Anthropic AI models.
The Claude outage began on September 3, 2026, at approximately 9:41 a.m. ET. The incident is affecting several Claude models, including Anthropic’s latest Mythos, Fable, and Opus releases.
According to the Anthropic status page, the company initially reported errors affecting requests made to Claude Mythos 5.1, Claude Fable 5.1, and Claude Opus 5.
Anthropic said at approximately 9:41 a.m. ET that it had identified the cause of the Claude service disruption and was working to deploy a fix.
A few minutes later, Anthropic published a more detailed list of affected models. The Claude outage includes Mythos/Fable 5.1, Mythos/Fable 5, Opus 5, Opus 4.8, and Opus 4.6.
Users affected by the Anthropic outage may find that requests fail to complete, return error messages, or cannot be processed when using one of the impacted cloud-based Claude models.
At 10:49 a.m. ET, Anthropic said it was still working on a resolution. The Claude service outage remained ongoing as of press time.
