Apple has officially unveiled its latest Apple Pencil, which now has a USB-C port.
The new pencil finds a place between the first generation that costs $99 and the more capable second generation that costs $129. The initial price of the new pencil is 79 dollars.
The new pencil charges with a USB-C cable and doesn’t support wireless charging or pairing. It does, however, support the hover function of the M2 iPad Pro models and can be magnetically attached to the side when not in use. A major drawback is the pressure sensitivity, which the first and second generation Apple Pencils have. Latency is still low, as is slope sensitivity for shading.
The dimensions of the USB-C Apple Pencil are 7.5 x 155, and it weighs 20.5 grams, almost the same as the Apple Pencil 2. The new pencil will be available for sale in early November.
