Artificial intelligence is one of the most influential factors that will change the world in the future.
But while some are excited about its possibilities, others fear it will steal their jobs. Which professions are most threatened by the development of artificial intelligence and how can they adapt to the new reality?
One of the professions that may be overshadowed by artificial intelligence is journalism. According to research by the University of Oxford, there is a good chance that the computer will completely replace journalists. There are already programs that can generate texts about sports events, financial reports or news from social networks. These texts are based on data and algorithms, without the need for human intervention.
But can artificial intelligence essentially replace journalists who deal with more serious topics, such as politics, culture or science? Some journalists who recently participated in the Congress on Artificial Intelligence and Journalism in Vienna say that it is still too early for artificial intelligence to put them out of work, but that there is a chance that it will happen.
She said AI is a useful tool for journalists, but not a replacement.
“She can help collect and process data, but not create stories. Journalists have creativity, style and personality. They also have feelings and empathy for their sources and readers. “Artificial intelligence cannot imitate those aspects,” said the journalist.
But journalism is not the only profession at risk from artificial intelligence.
Programmers, professional drivers, and with the development of robotics, some of the craftsmen will also suffer.
One of them is the tattoo artist Elena from Skopje, who says that artificial intelligence is also attacking her profession, because laser tattoos have already started to be done with the help of a computer in Germany.
“It’s horrible. Tattooing is art, not machine work. A tattoo should have a soul, not just a form. A tattoo should be an expression of a person’s personality and attitude, not just a fashion accessory. “The tattoo should be done with love and passion, not with a cold and precise laser,” she said.
Artificial intelligence is an inevitable reality that will have a major impact on all spheres of life. Some professions will be replaced and others will change or adapt. What is certain is that human intelligence, creativity and feelings will remain irreplaceable values.
