Google’s New CC Experiment Brings Gemini AI Planning to the Whole Family

Google’s AI models may not lead in every benchmark right now, but the company has one major advantage: data. For people deeply embedded in the Google ecosystem, Gemini already has access to substantial context. Google’s latest Google Labs experiment, Commonly known as CC, aims to extend that personalization to an entire family.

Google CC is designed for families

CC is an evolution of an experiment Google announced in 2025. The original CC eventually became Gemini’s Daily Brief, which analyzes data from your Google Account and provides daily action items and suggestions.

The new CC has similar goals, but it is designed to work as a shared resource for up to six family members. Each CC has its own Google account, and family members can decide how much control they want over the account and the information it can access.

How Google CC accesses shared information

CC only displays emails from connected users when those messages are explicitly shared. Users can provide CC with a specific email address that its agents should always be able to access, such as a school scheduling address.

Families can also send content to CC through email or Google Chat. The agents can monitor shared Google Drive folders, where users can place invitations, documents, and other information for the system to process.

CC sends families a shared daily briefing

One of CC’s main features is similar to Gemini’s Daily Brief. Every morning, registered users receive a shared “Your Day Ahead” email containing updates about the day’s events and previously assigned tasks.

Families can also use CC to add items to a shared calendar, notify members about important tasks, and create guided documents that everyone connected to CC can access.
