Donald Trump Discloses Millions of Dollars in Stock Trades, Including Microsoft, Nvidia and SpaceX
US President Donald Trump has revealed millions of dollars worth of stock market trades made during July, involving companies including Elon Musk’s SpaceX and technology and artificial intelligence giants such as Microsoft.
Microsoft Shares Sold in Millions of Dollars of Trades
Official documents show that between $6.5 million (about £480 million) and $31 million worth of Microsoft shares were sold on Trump’s behalf. The filings also show purchases ranging from $165,000 to $400,000.
Shares in AI company Nvidia and software company Palantir were bought and sold in more than 1,000 transactions, according to the filings. Palantir is a contractor to the US Department of Defense and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
White House Says Trump’s Portfolio Is Independently Managed
A White House spokesperson said President Trump’s stock and bond portfolio is managed independently by a third party.
“Neither President Trump nor his family have any ability to direct, influence or provide input on how a portfolio is invested or when investments are bought or sold,” the spokesperson told the BBC.
“There is no conflict of interest.”
Trump Portfolio Includes SpaceX and Tesla Trades
Thousands of dollars worth of stock was also bought and sold in SpaceX, the rocket, satellite and AI company headed by Musk, who previously headed the US government’s Office of Efficiency, according to the filings.
SpaceX listed its shares on the US-based Nasdaq stock market in June.
The company’s stock price has fluctuated since then, dropping sharply in July and August. It currently trades 14% higher than its stock market debut.
Shares of Musk’s electric car maker Tesla were also bought and sold on Trump’s behalf.
