In a stunning transformation, Range Rover has introduced its latest model, the all-electric Range Rover GT. This groundbreaking grand tourer is built on the innovative Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), which also supports the brand’s range of midsize vehicles.
Currently, only prototype images of the Range Rover GT have been released as it undergoes final testing. The full-scale launch is anticipated for later this year, but specific details regarding pricing, range, and power output remain undisclosed. However, Range Rover has confirmed that the GT will officially hit the market in 2027.
The camouflage images showcase the GT’s elegant profile and coupe-like design, which aligns more closely with Jaguar’s aesthetics rather than the traditional SUV look associated with Range Rover. Both brands belong to the parent company JLR (formerly known as Jaguar Land Rover).
According to Martin Limpert, Range Rover’s global managing director, the Range Rover GT aims to “redefine the grand touring segment” by offering “the poise, proportions, and long-range refinement of a GT,” while providing “capabilities that traditional GTs cannot match.”
It’s essential to note that Range Rover’s all-electric grand tourer is not meant to be a direct competitor to Jaguar’s highly anticipated Type 01, which is also set for a 2027 release and signifies a complete overhaul for Jaguar.
“We have meticulously worked on the key elements of the GT formula, presenting a refined version that epitomizes Range Rover,” Limpert stated. He emphasized that the GT, akin to its SUV counterparts, is indeed off-road capable. “The end result is the most automotive-like Range Rover ever produced, showcasing a seamless combination of EV prowess, premier long-distance comfort, and all-terrain versatility—truly embodying the essence of Range Rover. Its interior also reflects our vision for a modern grand tourer.”
