For the 2027 Rivian R1 lineup, the core technical specifications remain unchanged. The premium Rivian R1 models continue to offer an estimated range of 329 miles (530 km). Choosing the optional larger battery increases the range to 410 miles (660 km) in the R1S and 420 miles (675 km) in the R1T.
Standard output remains 533 horsepower (397 kW), while an available performance upgrade raises power to 655 hp (488 kW). Rivian continues to offer two interior options, now called Black Mountain and Ocean Coast. However, the center bench seat is available only with the Black Mountain interior.
Customers who choose the captain’s chairs must also purchase the $2,500 Sound + Vision package, bringing the additional cost to $1,500 for the seating upgrade. Selecting the Ocean Coast interior adds $4,500 and includes the Sound + Vision package.

The Performance R1 uses Rivian’s tri-motor powertrain, which continues to produce 850 horsepower (634 kW) and deliver an estimated 371-mile range (597 km). The Rivian R1 Quad also retains its name and existing powertrain specifications.
Rivian offers three interior configurations for the Performance R1: Black Mountain, Ocean Coast, and Slate Sky. The center bench seat is available only with the Black Mountain interior, while black captain’s chairs add $1,500. Ocean Coast and Slate Sky interiors are offered exclusively with six-seat configurations. Ocean Coast costs $4,000, while Slate Sky adds $4,500.
Rivian has also introduced Esker Silver, a new exterior paint color that replaces the previously available LA Silver. The R1T gains new 20-inch wheels with all-season tires, designed to provide a better balance between on-road comfort and off-road capability.
