Amazon Prime Day Deals Are Already Here: 4 WIRED-Approved Tech Deals to Buy Now
Amazon Prime Day is back. Amazon’s second sale of the year, officially called Prime Big Deal Days, takes place on October 6 and 7, but early deals are already available. After 13 years of deal hunting, I’ve highlighted the best discounts on gadgets and gear that are worth recommending to friends—many of them hand-tested by the WIRED review team.
We’ll continue tracking the best Amazon Prime Day deals throughout the event and after it ends, all the way through Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

These early Prime Big Deal Days offers include discounts on Android phones, portable Bluetooth speakers, workout earbuds, and noise-canceling wireless earbuds.
Google Pixel 10a: Our favorite Android phone
Early deal price: $424 at Amazon, Best Buy, and the Google Store (down from $499). In the UK, it’s £399 at Amazon, down from £499.
The Google Pixel 10a is our favorite Android smartphone overall, thanks in part to its low price. It delivers refined performance, powerful cameras, a brighter screen, faster charging, and years of software and security updates. Google also promises seven years of software support.
The main drawbacks are that battery life could be better and the phone does not include Pixelsnap magnets. If you’re looking for a capable Android phone at a relatively low price, this is one of the best early Prime Day deals.
JBL Go 5: An affordable portable Bluetooth speaker
Early deal price: $40 at Amazon and Best Buy (down from $55), or $42 at Walmart.
The JBL Go 5 is an affordable Bluetooth speaker available in 10 colors, most of which are currently at one of the lowest prices we’ve seen. It’s durable, lightweight, and produces impressive sound for its size, making it a practical pick for travel, workouts, and everyday listening.
Beats Powerbeats Pro 2: Workout earbuds with a secure fit
Early deal price: $200 at Amazon and Best Buy (down from $250).
We see this sale on our favorite workout earbuds fairly often, but they rarely drop more than $20 below their regular price. That makes this a solid deal if you’re shopping for a new pair. The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 work with both iOS and Android, offer punchy sound, and include Transparency mode and active noise cancellation.
They also have an excellent fit and a heart-rate monitoring feature. The main limitations are the lack of multipoint pairing and less-than-ideal water resistance.
Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: Top earbuds for Android users
Early deal price: $190 at Amazon and Best Buy (down from $229).
The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 remain our top earbuds for Android users, although they also work with iOS. They look stylish, sound great, feel comfortable, and offer long battery life, active noise cancellation, and useful software features.
Some features are limited to Pixel phones, but these are a strong alternative to AirPods for anyone who wants comfortable, capable wireless earbuds at a lower price.
