Dyson vacuum cleaners are frequently discounted, but the best offers often arrive around major shopping events such as Black Friday. With Black Friday only a few weeks away, several Dyson models are already on sale, including the Spot+Scrub Ai robot vacuum and the V16 Piston Animal cordless stick vacuum. A WIRED vacuum tester who has tested Dyson’s modern lineup, including the V15 Detect, explains which current deals may be worth considering—and where uncertainty remains.

The best Dyson robot vacuum deal right now
The Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai launched earlier this year and has already been overtaken as Dyson’s flagship robot vacuum by the newer Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV. However, the Spot+Scrub Ai may be the more appealing purchase because it is regularly discounted and the newer model has not appeared to offer a clearly better investment.
Dyson says the Spot+Scrub Ai uses artificial intelligence to identify areas of the floor that need scrubbing, although it was not clear in testing whether that feature worked as claimed. Overall, the robot vacuum performed well, particularly as Dyson’s first effort to combine robot vacuuming and mopping. The current $400 discount is also better than the deals seen during Prime Day.
Also on sale: The Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry is available for $450, down from $550. It is one of three new robot vacuums Dyson announced this fall. The R1 has not yet been tested, so its value is still uncertain.
The Dyson R3 Nurovi is currently priced at $1,200. It is still being tested, but its vacuuming performance has not been especially impressive so far: rice and popcorn were left behind on rugs and hard floors. That makes it difficult to assume the less expensive R1 will perform better.

Dyson V16 Piston Animal
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal is the company’s most powerful cordless stick vacuum, with 315 air watts of suction. It also introduces several design improvements and can be paired with a Submarine 2.0 mop head.
The V16 Piston Animal has received regular discounts in several configurations. The basic vacuum is listed at $980, with a reduced price of $800. The version sold with a charging Floor Dok is listed at $1,030 and reduced to $830. The Submarine version is listed at $1,100 and reduced to $900, whether purchased from Amazon or Dyson with the Submarine accessory.
The vacuum’s design upgrades and power have been well received, although its high price remains a drawback. The Submarine mop head is particularly appealing, while the charging floor dock offers a convenient way to keep the cordless vacuum fully charged and stored. The dock has not yet been tested, however.
Current discounts include $180 off the standard vacuum and $200 off versions bundled with the Submarine head or charging floor dock. Buyers should compare the included accessories and retailer pricing before purchasing, since Dyson is offering several combinations at different prices.
