Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Review: Exceptional Call Quality and Performance

The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds deliver exceptional active noise cancellation (ANC). You can choose from Standard, Transparency, Adaptive, and Off modes, then fine-tune the noise-cancellation intensity from levels 1 to 5 using the charging case or the Soundcore app. Only a few models, including the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd generation) and Sony WF-1000XM6, canceled noticeably more background noise in testing.

The Liberty 5 Pro’s sound profiles, known as Soundcore Signatures, are less refined straight out of the box than its call quality and ANC performance. The default tuning emphasizes bass heavily, and even casual listeners will likely notice the boost—especially when comparing these earbuds with models from Apple and Bose. Soundcore includes five preset profiles, an eight-band custom equalizer, and a personalized HearID mode. While the audio is not quite as detailed as what you get from the AirPods Pro 3 or Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, the difference is small enough that most listeners will enjoy the sound quality—particularly given the Liberty 5 Pro’s significantly lower price.

Everyday versatility

Many new wireless earbuds struggle to become reliable everyday companions. Although the convenience of Apple’s ecosystem means I still reluctantly rely on the AirPods Pro 3, I continue to use the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro—including while writing this review. These earbuds are comfortable, sound impressive, provide strong ANC, work well with both iPhone and Android devices, and stay securely in place. Their IP55 rating also protects them from dust and light rain.

Most importantly, Soundcore has dramatically improved call quality. Conversations are clearer and more enjoyable, even in challenging environments filled with buzzing sounds and the constant noise of New York City.

The soundstage and clarity are not flawless, and the earbuds are slightly larger than some competing models. However, those drawbacks are easy to overlook when the Liberty 5 Pro costs nearly $100 less than other highly recommended wireless earbuds. In 2026, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro may be one of the best-value noise-canceling earbuds available.
