Storm Austin caused disruption
The severe weather associated with Storm Boero follows Storm Austin, the first storm of the season, which brought strong wind gusts to large parts of southern England and Wales throughout Friday.
Strong winds and heavy rain caused trees to fall onto railway tracks and roads, disrupting traffic.
In Brighton, part of the iconic West Pier, an abandoned structure that first opened in 1866, collapsed into the sea.
National Grid said its engineers had restored power to more than 60,000 properties since the Austin storm began. However, hundreds of properties were still without power on Saturday morning.
