VisionQuest trailer introduces Vision’s next chapter

Marvel’s VisionQuest will complete the loose trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along. Paul Bettany returns as Vision, who was destroyed in Avengers: Infinity War before reappearing as the white Vision during the finale of WandaVision.

The new Disney+ series follows Vision after he reactivates and disappears, attempting to avoid people who want to turn him into a weapon. While searching for a new purpose, he encounters artificial-intelligence personalities connected to his programming, including FRIDAY, EDITH, JARVIS, and Ultron.

Vision was reactivated and went into hiding, fleeing from those who wanted to weaponize him. In search of new meaning, he draws on AI personas embedded in his programming, including FRIDAY, EDITH, JARVIS, and the infamous Ultron. His low profile comes to an end when a bounty on his head forces him to reincarnate and go on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son.

James Spader will reprise his role as Ultron. The series will also connect to the storyline involving Billy and Tommy Maximoff, which developed in WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Ruaridh Mollica has been cast as Tommy Shepard, also known as Tommy Maximoff or Speed.

The supporting cast includes Todd Stashwick as Paladin, a bounty hunter tracking Vision; Tinia Miller as the robot Jocasta; Emily Hampshire as EDITH; Orla Brady as FRIDAY; and James D’Arcy as JARVIS. Faran Tahir is also expected to return as Raza, the Ten Rings leader from 2008’s Iron Man.

VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.

Ahsoka Season 2 teaser expands the Star Wars story

Disney also released the first teaser for Ahsoka Season 2. The live-action Star Wars series follows Ahsoka Tano, the former Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, as she confronts new threats across the galaxy.

The first season ended with Ahsoka and Sabine Wren stranded in a distant galaxy while Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the known galaxy. Season 2 will continue that storyline as the pair search for a way home and attempt to stop Thrawn from starting a new war against the fledgling New Republic.

Rosario Dawson returns as Ahsoka Tano, alongside Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Hayden Christensen is also expected to appear as Anakin Skywalker, while Mary Elizabeth Winstead returns as Hera Syndulla and Eman Esfandi reprises his role as Ezra Bridger.

Additional returning cast members include Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, David Tennant as Huyang, Dave Filoni as Chopper, and Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll. McCann replaces the late Ray Stevenson in the role.

Ahsoka Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.

Avengers: Doomsday footage reveals more about Doctor Doom

Marvel followed the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday with additional footage shown to attendees at San Diego Comic-Con and later presented at D23. The film is set 14 months after the events of Thunderbolts*.

According to Marvel’s official description, heroes from three different universes will be forced into a deadly conflict against an existential threat. The story is expected to bring together Earth-616’s Avengers and Wakandans, the Fantastic Four from Earth-828, and the original X-Men.

The new footage offers additional context about Victor von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. Sue Storm, portrayed by Vanessa Kirby, describes Doom as a brilliant former friend whose life was transformed by tragedy. Doom, meanwhile, accuses the heroes of living “stolen lives” and declares that those lives must be returned.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.

Star Wars: Starfighter gets a first look at D23

Disney has not released an official teaser for Star Wars: Starfighter, but director Shawn Levy and star Ryan Gosling presented exclusive footage during the D23 event.

The film will tell an entirely original story separate from the Skywalker saga. Levy described the project as an adventure filled with humor, danger, and spectacle. Gosling said the movie follows characters from across the galaxy whose lives become connected to what is described as the fastest starfighter in history.

Set several years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the film will explore a period of the Star Wars timeline that has not previously been depicted on screen.

Star Wars: Starfighter is scheduled for theatrical release on May 28, 2027.

Marvel reveals early details about the MCU’s X-Men

Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot is being directed by Jake Schreier, who previously directed Thunderbolts*. The film is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2028.

The project has already generated attention following the reveal that Sadie Sink’s mysterious character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a young Jean Grey. Sink’s Jean is expected to play an important role in the emerging mutant storyline.

The reported cast also includes Christopher Abbott as Charles Xavier, or Professor X; Kit Connor as Cyclops; Samara Weaving as Emma Frost; and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister. Further casting announcements are expected before production begins.

The MCU’s X-Men is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028.

Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian coming to Disney+

Disney also previewed Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian, an animated comedy special that retells all three seasons of the live-action series in Lego form.

The voice cast includes Brendan Wayne as the Mandalorian, David Acord as Grogu, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto, Bill Burr as Migs Mayfeld, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Emily Swallow as the Armorer, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, and Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.

Other returning characters include Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Greef Karga, Cobb Vanth, Luke Skywalker, IG-11, and Carson Teva.

Lego Star Wars: The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on September 2, 2026.
