PS5 Emulation on PC Is Advancing, but Major Compatibility Problems Remain
PS5 emulation on PC is making steady progress. KytyPS5’s compatibility list now includes 134 titles with “controllable gameplay,” although many still have persistent, game-breaking bugs. Footage of PS5 games running through the emulator is already available on YouTube, including Astro’s Playroom and Demon’s Souls.

KytyPS5 Shows Early PS5 Emulator Progress
Traditional emulation is not the only approach being explored. AnyPS5 may be one of the most interesting projects attempting to run PS5 games on PC. The project describes itself as an “automated executable porting tool,” similar in concept to Apple’s Game Porting Toolkit.
Rather than fully emulating the PS5 environment, AnyPS5 directly relinks a game’s original x86 code into native executable instructions that can run on a PC. This approach sits between statically decompiling a game’s source code and emulating the complete PS5 system.
According to its developer, AnyPS5 remains in the early stages of development but already supports approximately 76% of system libraries and 50% of GPU shader instructions. That is enough to bring games such as Dreaming Sarah to a “playable state.” A proof-of-concept video for the PS5 version of Dead Cells also shows the game running as a native PC executable.

When Will Most PS5 Games Run on PC?
The day when most of the PS5 library runs properly on standard PC hardware is probably still a long way off. Even so, the recent surge in development activity and improvements in compatibility offer PC players hope that broader PS5 support will eventually become possible.
