Ridge wallets are built for people who want to carry a small number of cards without the bulk of a traditional wallet. The aluminum-and-elastic design has attracted everyday-carry enthusiasts and social media influencers, but WIRED reviewer Lauryn Strampe also approved of it after testing, writing, “I can’t imagine using anything else.” Select Ridge Wallet styles are currently available for $76, down from $95, and the company offers a 99-day risk-free trial.
Ridge Wallet sale brings the price down to $76
Select styles are included in Ridge’s friends and family sale, reducing the usual $95 price to $76. The sale also includes discounts on other Ridge accessories, including pocket knives, mobile batteries, bags and trackers. If the wallet does not suit you, Ridge says it will refund your money during the 99-day trial period.
The wallet has become popular partly because of its minimalist appearance and durable construction. Strampe’s review suggests the appeal is not only marketing hype. Although she is not a minimalist and was not persuaded by what she called the “ridiculous” marketing, she said, “I can’t imagine using anything else.” The Ridge Wallet is also useful for travel when you need to carry a few credit cards without creating the familiar George Costanza-style bulge in a pocket.
How the Ridge Wallet works
The Ridge Wallet may take some getting used to. It consists of two pieces of aluminum secured by screws and elastic bands, with cards held between them in a sandwich-like arrangement. The wallet can hold up to 12 cards, and its opening can be adjusted to match the number of cards you carry using T-5 Torx screws and the included screwdriver.
For people who want to keep their everyday carry compact, the wallet can hold credit cards, a driver’s license and a Costco card in one place. Strampe noted that it does not replace every item she carries, including car keys and other necessities, but it can eliminate the need to search through a bag for individual cards or carry a bulky wallet.
Ridge also offers several ways to customize the wallet. Owners can add an external cash strap or money clip, including a clip with a slot for an AirTag. Chain and D-ring attachments are available as well, and colored screws can be used to change the wallet’s appearance.
