Google’s Pixel Watch 5 is available at a record-low price of $300 for the 41mm Wi-Fi model, reduced from $400. The larger 45mm version is also discounted, falling from $430 to $330. The early Black Friday offer is available through Amazon, Best Buy and the Google Store, although the retailers do not indicate how long the 25 percent discount will last.
Pixel Watch 5 reaches its lowest price
The Pixel Watch 5 is regarded as one of the best smartwatches for Android users. It builds on the previous generation with double the RAM and storage, along with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor. Google says the new model is 20 percent faster than its predecessor.
Its domed display is designed to be comfortable and readable during workouts, while the updated health and fitness features provide a significant improvement over earlier models.
Health and fitness features
The Pixel Watch 5’s strength-training experience can track weights and repetitions and includes a workout builder, audio cues and rest timers. Users can create custom routines in the Google Health app, while Gemini AI can guide them through exercises and generate workouts based on photos of gym equipment.
Gemini also supports certain offline tasks, including starting a workout. That could be useful for people who want to exercise without carrying a phone or staying connected to the internet.
Google’s Health Guardian tools can monitor insulin-resistance trends, blood-pressure trends, respiratory emergencies in some countries and sleep-breathing quality. The watch also includes an ECG, skin-temperature tracking and pulse-loss detection.
Google says its upgraded sleep tracking is 15 percent more accurate than the Pixel Watch 4.
Battery life and charging
Google estimates that the Pixel Watch 5 can last up to 40 hours on a charge. In testing, however, it lasted about 36 hours before running out of power.
Fast charging is one of the watch’s strongest features: 15 minutes on the charger can provide up to 15 hours of use. That makes it easier to top up the watch shortly before leaving home.
A stronger value at $300
At its original $400 price, the Pixel Watch 5 was a costly recommendation, particularly because many of its software improvements are also available on the previous generation. At $300, however, it costs less than the latest Apple Watch Series 12 and other high-end smartwatches.
This is the lowest price seen for the Pixel Watch 5, so shoppers interested in Google’s latest smartwatch may have little reason to wait until Black Friday in late November.
