What to Expect From Apple’s Event

Could Apple unveil a foldable iPhone?

The biggest rumored announcement is a foldable iPhone. Reports from Silicon Valley suggest that Apple could introduce a premium foldable model known as the iPhone Ultra, with a potential price of more than $2,000.

Apple is also expected to announce a new iPhone Pro model. The foldable iPhone and the next-generation Pro iPhone could become available in late September, although Apple has not confirmed any release plans.

What about the standard iPhone 18?

Apple may preview the standard iPhone 18 during today’s presentation, but the device may not launch until early next year. Several factors could influence the timing, including higher manufacturing costs and the ongoing memory shortage affecting the broader PC and electronics industries.

Delaying the launch of more affordable models—including the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air—could also give Apple more time to promote its premium devices.

New Apple Watch and Apple Watch Ultra models

Apple may also introduce new Apple Watch and Apple Watch Ultra models at today’s event. The latest versions are expected to include performance improvements, updated health and fitness features, and longer battery life.

Siri AI and On-Device Intelligence

New iPhone and Apple Watch models could receive additional capabilities powered by Siri AI, the latest version of Apple’s artificial intelligence assistant.

Apple is expected to highlight improvements to its device chips, on-device AI processing, secure computing, and battery optimization. While Siri AI appeared powerful during beta testing, it may still have limitations in everyday use, much like previous versions of Apple’s assistant.

Products Apple May Not Announce Today

Apple’s rumored smart home lineup may not be part of today’s presentation. The company is reportedly developing a new HomePod speaker and other smart home devices designed to work with Siri and camera-based visual intelligence features.

Apple could also introduce AirPods with built-in cameras. These cameras would provide Siri AI with additional visual context, allowing the earbuds to respond more intelligently to questions about what the wearer is seeing.

The camera-equipped AirPods could arrive at today’s event, but Apple may instead save them for another product launch later in September or October. The company’s upcoming smart home devices could also be announced during that event.
