How to Screen Record on Android: Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy
There are many reasons to record what is happening on your phone. You might need to show a tech-savvy friend how an app is malfunctioning, or create a tutorial that teaches others how to fix a problem.
Screen recording is also useful for starting a smartphone-focused YouTube channel or capturing the moment you achieve a new high score in a mobile game. Unlike a screenshot, a recording shows the action as it happens.
The process is straightforward on most phones. Below are the steps for recording your screen on Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
How to screen record on a Google Pixel

Unlock your Google Pixel, then swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for Screen recorder. If you do not see it, swipe left or right. You can also tap the pen icon in the bottom-right corner and add Screen recorder to the Quick Settings menu.
Before recording, choose whether to show screen touches or display your selfie camera feed as an overlay. The camera overlay can be useful when you are narrating or reacting to what is on screen. You can also choose whether to record audio from your phone’s apps, your microphone, or both.
Use the drop-down menu at the top to record your entire screen or just one app. When you are ready, tap Start. A short countdown will appear before recording begins.
To stop recording, tap the red recording timer in the status bar, then tap Stop. Your video will be saved to Google Photos.

Screen recording on Samsung Galaxy smartphones is similar to the process on Google Pixel, but the controls are arranged differently. Unlock your phone and swipe down from the top of the display. Then swipe down again from the center panel, where you will find icons for features such as Wi-Fi and the flashlight.
Tap the Screen recorder icon to begin the recording process.
