Few details were provided about the alleged theft. The complaint alleges that images of another minor were also taken and that both images were converted into child sexual abuse material (CSAM) used for Epstein’s “own sexual gratification and the sexual gratification of others.”

Police reports were filed, but “no one in law enforcement took any action to indict anyone or investigate these reports,” Doe claimed.

Amy Says Images of Her Have Circulated for Decades

The other plaintiff, known as “Amy,” is described as a “victim of a legacy CSAM that has been in circulation and actively traded since the late 1990s.”

Amy suspects that images of her were part of Epstein’s collection because she appeared in one of the “most widely circulated legacy series” and has “consistently” appeared “in collections maintained by individuals who possess child pornography.”

Survivors Seek Answers About Epstein’s Collection

After years of waiting for the Justice Department to send a notice that never appeared to come, survivors turned to the courts for answers to their biggest questions: Are their images included in the collection? If so, did Epstein ever exchange them? And should his estate be liable for perhaps dozens or even hundreds of CSAM violations if their claims survive his death?

If the survivors win their case, they are asking the court to require the estate to keep a complete record of the collection’s contents so that each survivor knows exactly how many of their images were misused by Epstein.

“Our goal in this case is accountability and identification,” Nappi said. “We want the estate to preserve and account for everything it seized from Epstein’s estate. We also want an actual court-supervised process to identify and notify all the survivors depicted in that collection. Many of them don’t know that their images are in his files, but they have a right to know and a chance to seek justice.”

Alleged Impact on Jane Doe

Doe’s wait time was particularly long, the complaint states.

“After learning that Epstein possessed sexual images of herself as a child, Jane Doe suffered and continues to suffer severe psychological distress, anxiety, hyperarousal, intrusive memories, sleep disturbances, the need for and progression of mental health treatment, and the clear and ongoing trauma of knowing that images of herself as a child were retained and used for the sexual gratification of others.”
