NASA Adds Blue Origin’s New Glenn 9×4 Launch Service to NLS II Contract

Pursuant to the contract’s ramp provisions, NASA has added Blue Origin’s New Glenn 9×4 launch service to the NASA Launch Services II (NLS II) contract. The New Glenn 9×4 launch service will be available to NASA’s Launch Services Program Office for future missions.

What the NASA NLS II Contract Covers

The NLS II contract is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. Its order period runs through June 2030, with an overall performance period extending through December 2032.

The contract includes an on-ramp provision that gives new launch service providers an annual opportunity to compete for future missions. It also allows existing contractors to introduce rockets that are not currently included in the NLS II contract.

Supporting NASA and Government Missions

The NLS II contract supports the goals and objectives of NASA’s Human Spaceflight Mission Directorate, Science Mission Directorate, and Research and Technology Mission Directorate.

Under the contract, NASA can also provide launch services to other government agencies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

NASA Launch Services Program Office

NASA’s Launch Services Program Office at Kennedy Space Center in Florida manages the NLS II contract.
