A significant incident has been reported in Conwy, North Wales, and Glossop, Derbyshire, where firefighters continue to combat the ongoing blaze as of Tuesday.
Over the weekend, bushfires also impacted regions such as Hampshire, Durham, West Sussex, East Sussex, Devon, and Somerset.
Kevin Dingwall, a bushfire preparedness advisor from the Scottish Fire Service, highlighted that many people will be outdoors this week, and he urged everyone to take “simple steps” to prevent fire outbreaks.
He stated: “Hot and dry weather is escalating the bushfire risk across Scotland. It’s crucial to stay vigilant, even in areas without active warnings.”
“Wildfires pose a severe threat to property, landscapes, and wildlife, making it essential for everyone to exercise extreme caution in these conditions.
“Please refrain from starting outdoor fires or barbecues, as a single spark can lead to devastating consequences. Remember, there’s no such thing as a harmless fire.”
“You can contribute by sharing bushfire alerts with family, friends, and visitors.”
