Genesis GV90 Electric SUV Brings the Neolun Concept to Production
Genesis has officially revealed the production version of its new electric flagship SUV, the Genesis GV90. The luxury three-row electric SUV follows the brand’s striking Neolun concept and retains many of its most distinctive design elements, including clean exterior lines, a premium lounge-like interior, and an available pillarless coach-door configuration.
The original Genesis Neolun concept previewed a sophisticated four-seat electric SUV with swiveling front seats, no B-pillar, and an upscale cabin combining leather, wool, and wood. Based on the first production images, Genesis has successfully translated much of that concept into the road-going GV90.
The Genesis GV90 is built on the same 800-volt E-GMP electric vehicle platform used by the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. While the GV90 will eventually be offered as a seven-seat, three-row electric SUV, Genesis is initially highlighting the luxurious four-seat version and the range-topping GV90 Neolun variant.

The available pillarless coach doors give the Genesis GV90 Neolun a dramatic presence while creating an open, luxurious entryway. Genesis has previously said it developed the door system to meet the safety requirements necessary for mass production. The brand refers to this feature as the Neolun Arch Gate.
Safety is also a major focus of the new Genesis electric SUV. Every GV90 is equipped with 12 airbags, including what Genesis describes as the world’s first roof-mounted airbag. The roof airbag is designed to deploy during a rollover, adding another layer of protection for occupants in the three-row luxury EV.
