Discord is opening discussions from eligible Discoverable Servers to the public web, allowing search engines to index those conversations and letting people view them without a Discord account or invitation. The company says the move is intended to make useful information easier to find while giving people a way to join discussions directly on Discord.
“Discussions on Discoverable Servers will be easier to find with web searches, help you find the answers you’re looking for, and join the conversation directly on Discord,” the messaging platform said in its announcement.
Which Discord servers are included?
The change applies only to Discoverable Servers that are public communities with at least 1,000 members. Discord says it hosts approximately 63,000 servers that meet those criteria.
Private servers, direct messages between users, and group announcements from servers that do not meet Discord’s requirements will not be included.
Discord’s rollout schedule
The rollout will take place in two phases:
- On November 16, every Discoverable Server will receive a public server web page containing an automatically generated summary of active conversations since that date.
- Beginning in mid-December, eligible messages posted to Discoverable Servers will appear on those server web pages and become available for indexing by web search engines.
If an administrator has not created a server web page by November 16, Discord will create one automatically. The only way to prevent that is to change the server type to private before the deadline.

The December rollout will happen gradually. Discord says messages posted before the release date will be filtered out.
How administrators and users can opt out
Channel administrators can exclude individual channels or disable sharing for all channel content through Server Settings > Web Presence.

Community members can also control whether their messages appear on server web pages under User Settings > Data and Privacy. This setting applies only to future messages and cannot remove messages that have already been published.

If administrators and users leave the settings unchanged, their content will be included automatically in the new sharing system.
Message sharing will remain disabled by default in all European Union countries, the UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia, and South Korea. Users in those locations must explicitly enable the feature in their privacy settings.
Minors are excluded automatically and cannot enable the feature until they turn 18.
