“Blue Planet III,” the latest installment of the BBC’s landmark ocean documentary series, returns with six episodes narrated by Sir David Attenborough. The season uses next-generation underwater filmmaking technology, including “splash drones” that can land on, rise from and take off directly from the water, while focusing on stories of hope and resilience across five marine habitats.
Following “Blue Planet II” in 2017, which highlighted the effects of plastic pollution, the new series explores tropical, open, seasonal, polar and deep oceans. The sixth and final episode, “Future Oceans,” examines the challenges facing the seas and what people can do to protect them for future generations.
