Discovery+ Raises Subscription Prices: Ad-Free Plan Now $12 per Month
Discovery+ has increased its subscription prices. New subscribers will now pay $12 per month for the ad-free plan, up from $10, while the ad-supported plan costs $7 per month, up from $6.
New Discovery+ prices take effect immediately
The new prices apply immediately to new Discovery+ subscribers. Current subscribers will receive 30 days’ notice of the higher fees on bills beginning November 12.
Discovery+ primarily features unscripted programming, including reality shows and documentaries.
Price increase follows Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition
The price increase comes one week after Paramount Skydance acquired Discovery+ parent company Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and created Skydance.
However, a Skydance spokesperson told Ars Technica that the Discovery+ price changes were already in progress before the company knew when the deal would close. The spokesperson said the increases were not planned in anticipation of the merger.
According to the spokesperson, Discovery+ regularly evaluates its pricing to ensure it remains consistent with the content and experience the service provides. The new prices reflect that evaluation.
Discovery+ subscription price history
Discovery+ has raised its prices three times since launching in 2012. The previous increase occurred in January 2025, when the ad-supported plan increased from $5 to $6 per month and the ad-free plan rose from $9 to $10.
