Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise and Education Editions Will Stop Receiving Security Updates Next Month
Microsoft has notified customers that systems running Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions will stop receiving security updates next month.
The announcement follows the end of support for Windows 11 23H2 Home and Pro editions in November 2025.
Windows 11 23H2 support ends in November 2026
Microsoft says the November 2026 Windows Security Update will be the final update available for Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions. After that date, devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security updates that protect against the latest security threats.
“The November 2026 Windows Security Update will be the last update available for these editions. After this date, devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security updates that include protection from the latest security threats,” Microsoft said in a Message Center update.
“We recommend updating eligible devices running Windows 11 version 23H2 to a supported Windows 11 version,” the company added.
Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 26H2
Users are currently recommended to upgrade to Windows 11 26H2, also known as the Windows 11 2026 Update. The update will be generally available as an enablement package (eKB) in September 2026 and will end consumer support in October 2029.
Windows 11 26H2 will be gradually rolled out to eligible Windows 11 devices for users who have enabled the “Get the latest updates as they become available” setting.
“If an update is ready for your device, it will be automatically downloaded and installed, and a single restart will complete the process,” Microsoft said.
How to check for the Windows 11 26H2 update
To manually check whether the update is available, open Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates. If your system is ready to be upgraded, you will see an option to Download and install Windows 11 version 26H2.
