Rocco Smart Fridge Sale: The Retro Mini Fridge Is Now $200 Off

Rocco’s smart refrigerator combines retro design with app-connected convenience. This stylish mini fridge and wine cooler keeps a catalog of its contents, so you can see what’s inside without opening the door—even when you’re away from home.

Former WIRED contributor Andrew Watman reviewed the Rocco in 2024 and rated it 7 out of 10, calling it a well-designed statement piece. I own one, too, and appreciate both its vintage charm and the ability to check its contents without physically looking inside.

What makes the Rocco smart fridge different?

The best feature of the Rocco, aside from its fun color options, is its smart app. You can check the scans recorded by the refrigerator, control its interior lights, and adjust its temperature remotely.

When Watman tested the fridge, he was impressed by the breadth of drinks it could recognize, including the lesser-known OoMee algae drink and canned Yate Yate tea. I was especially surprised that Rocco could identify the individual flavors of Kirkland Signature sparkling water in his refrigerator at home.

A convenient second refrigerator

My Rocco is on the second floor of my house, away from the main refrigerator, so I didn’t expect its inventory feature to be quite so useful. I can check what’s inside from anywhere, which makes it easier to know what needs to be stocked upstairs and avoid multiple trips to the fridge.

The app is also helpful while shopping. You can check your refrigerator remotely to see what needs to be replaced before heading home.

Rocco smart fridge sale details

This isn’t the biggest Rocco discount we’ve seen, but $200 off the Classic model makes the sale worth considering. During the promotion, buyers also receive a free case of Laurel’s Lattes, a dairy coffee drink designed to be gut-friendly. Rocco’s scanner will presumably recognize it.

Rocco The Essential: A lower-priced smart fridge

Rocco also introduced a new lower-priced model this fall: The Essential. It is currently $100 off.

The Essential has a sleeker, more contemporary design than the original Classic. It holds up to 77 cans, compared with 88 cans for the Classic, and is available in cream, sage, and graphite.

Like the original model, The Essential uses a built-in compressor and can cool to 34 degrees Fahrenheit. According to Rocco, it is “the coldest refrigerator I’ve ever built.” WIRED plans to test it against the popular Classic, with a review to follow.
