The Japanese company “Espace” presented its new lander “Apex 1.0” that will fly instead of the previous version. The spacecraft is intended for flights to the moon and will be able to carry up to 300 kilograms of cargo to our natural satellite.

The new lander will have more than 10 times the payload of the first, Series 1, which landed on the lunar surface in April.

The company, by the way, has so far invested over 40 million euros in its new branch in Denver, Colorado, USA, as it wants to take advantage of the aspirations of the American space agency NASA and the Pentagon in the field of technologies for lunar missions.

The investment is a clear indicator of Espace’s interest in the American market. We expect these numbers to continue to grow as part of our strategic commitment to contribute to government missions and the creation of a cislunar system by the United States, said company CEO Takeshi Hakamada.

The American subsidiary is called “Space Technologies USA”, and employs more than 80 people. Former NASA astronaut Ronald J. Garan was appointed director of the branch in June.
