Apple’s iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, making the company’s first foldable phone unaffordable for many buyers. Apple itself rarely discounts new products, particularly when demand has pushed the device into backorder status, but T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon are offering carrier promotions that could reduce the effective cost by up to $1,200. The catch is that these savings generally come as monthly bill credits tied to lengthy wireless contracts, specific plans, trade-ins, or other eligibility requirements.
Delivery estimates have also moved into January. That means customers who accept one of these offers may still have to wait before receiving the iPhone Duo.
T-Mobile iPhone Duo deal: Up to $1,200 off
T-Mobile is offering up to $1,200 in bill credits when customers purchase an iPhone Duo and enroll in an eligible Experience Beyond plan. New customers must sign up for a 36-month Experience Beyond 2.0 plan. Existing T-Mobile customers can qualify with an Experience Beyond 2.0, Experience Beyond, or Go5G Next plan, provided they are not already enrolled in another payment plan.
The $1,200 is not paid upfront. T-Mobile distributes the discount as credits over 36 months. For the 256-GB base model, the phone payment works out to $22.22 per month, or roughly $800 over three years. The Experience Beyond 2.0 plan costs $100 per month before taxes and fees.
The offer does not apply to customers who pay for the phone in full or choose a less expensive plan. Because the savings depend on remaining with the carrier and completing the payment period, the promotion is best suited to customers comfortable with a three-year commitment.
T-Mobile also lists other iPhone Duo incentives, including up to $1,200 off with a trade-in and up to $1,000 off for seniors, military members, students, and first responders. Eligibility details are available on the T-Mobile iPhone Duo purchase page.
The same T-Mobile promotions may also apply to the iPhone 18 Pro and other models, so buyers who are not specifically seeking a foldable phone may have additional options.
AT&T and Verizon offer comparable promotions
AT&T also has a trade-in promotion that reduces the iPhone Duo’s cost to about $22.23 per month over 36 months. Completing the contract results in a total discount of $1,200. Customers can review the terms on the AT&T iPhone Duo purchase page.
AT&T separately offers an $800 gift card to customers who switch to the carrier. However, buyers using that promotion must still pay the full price of the iPhone Duo.
Verizon advertises up to $1,200 off the phone for new or existing customers who sign up for a 36-month Unlimited Ultimate plan. The offer is available with or without a trade-in. Verizon’s promotion is detailed on its iPhone Duo purchase page.
As an additional incentive, Verizon includes a choice of an Apple Watch Series 12 or an iPad with the offer.
What to consider before choosing a carrier deal
These promotions are effectively contracts. The phone remains locked to the carrier until the final payment is made, and ending service early could affect the remaining bill credits. Although the financing does not carry monthly interest, taxes and fees increase the total cost of ownership.
The wireless plan itself is also a major part of the calculation. Once the cost of the required plan, taxes, fees, trade-in requirements, and phone payments are combined, the monthly total could match or exceed the price of an existing premium plan.
Carrier financing may make sense for customers who already intend to stay with T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon for the long term. Anyone considering the iPhone Duo should calculate the full three-year cost before committing, rather than treating the advertised discount as an upfront reduction in the phone’s price.
