This year’s price increases for Samsung’s foldables may seem modest, but considering their already high price point, the impact is noticeable. The Galaxy Flip 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra are each just $100 higher than their 2025 counterparts. However, it’s worth noting that foldable prices had already been climbing before the infamous RAMpocalypse happened. With competitors like Motorola offering Razr phones at several hundred dollars less, the Flip 8’s $1,200 price tag could be challenging to justify, especially given its performance.
The Z Fold 8 Ultra holds the title of the most expensive foldable phone at $2,100 in most markets. That said, individuals willing to spend $2,000 on a smartphone are likely to consider an additional $100 expenditure. Pre-orders are currently open, and Samsung has improved trade-in values to help alleviate the financial sting. The new devices are set to ship on August 7th.
Exciting New Wearables from Samsung
In addition to its foldable smartphones, Samsung has unveiled a range of new wearable devices. Just like the latest mobile phones, these new smartwatches come equipped with impressive features and competitive pricing. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will retail for a staggering $700, while the Galaxy Watch 9 begins at $380. Both models are powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is, as expected, Samsung’s latest competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra. This larger watch, measuring 47mm, boasts a rugged design and is equipped with a titanium case, enhanced battery capacity, and a brighter display. It also features an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance, offering 10ATM water resistance compared to the Watch 9’s 5ATM (IP68) rating. Samsung plans to introduce a diving app for the Ultra 2 later this year.
The Galaxy Watch 9 is available in 40mm and 44mm case sizes, features an aluminum build, and retains the iconic squiggle design first introduced with the Ultra series. It is available in both LTE and Bluetooth versions, with prices starting at $430 for the LTE model.
Like the new smartphones, Samsung’s wearable tech is available for pre-order starting today, with shipping expected on August 7th.
