GTA 6 will feature a wide range of customizable clothing options for its characters, including apparel that Rockstar appears to have developed in collaboration with real-world fashion designers. However, some clothing items may be exclusive to the $100 Ultimate Edition, prompting debate among fans. Some fans are already expressing frustration.
More responsive NPCs and realistic traffic reactions
NPCs in GTA 6 appear to be far more responsive and interactive than those in previous Grand Theft Auto games. According to Dazed, Rockstar has an entire Los Angeles-based studio dedicated to developing pedestrian behavior and improving the realism of NPCs.
During the Extended Look presentation, several car-chase scenes appeared to avoid running over pedestrians. Even so, the NPCs displayed more personality than the repetitive crowds seen in earlier games. Characters were shown wearing yoga clothing, riding scooters, and reacting to the world around them.

Driving mechanics also appear to have received a major upgrade in GTA 6. While driving, players can follow a minimap designed to resemble a real GPS navigation system. One car chase showed the main characters fleeing from police while switching between Lucia and Jason. Players can choose whether to drive or shoot at their pursuers.
Vehicle damage also looks more dynamic. A blown tire can cause a car to roll over, strike the pavement, and damage nearby objects. In another scene, a character slams a police officer into a wall, hinting that indoor environments may offer more physical interaction and destruction. Rockstar has historically been inconsistent with destructible environments in the GTA series. For example, GTA V allows vehicles to crash through some large utility poles but can be stopped by surprisingly fragile objects. GTA 6 may provide a more believable range of environmental reactions.
Explore Vice City with plenty of activities
Vice City and the surrounding areas look expansive, offering players a large Florida-inspired world to explore. Activities may include boating through the Everglades, kayaking along rivers, scuba diving, and jet skiing in the Gulf of Mexico.
One trailer scene shows Lucia accidentally kidnapping a livestreaming influencer before a police chase begins. Phones and text messaging also play a major role in the game. GTA VI appears ready to satirize social media culture, although the effectiveness of that commentary will depend on how Rockstar adapts it to the rapidly changing online landscape.
Yes, you can pet the dog
At least one dog appears in the game, and players can reportedly pet it. For many fans, that small interaction is already one of the most popular details shown in GTA 6 footage.
User-generated content and GTA 6 mods
In 2023, Rockstar acquired the modification marketplace CFX and created a dedicated marketplace for sharing and purchasing user-created game modifications. Rockstar has also supported the GTA Online Rockstar Mission Creator, which allows players to design custom levels and game modes. These tools demonstrate how Rockstar has embraced the Grand Theft Auto community’s interest in user-generated content.
The Extended Look presentation did not reveal whether GTA 6 will expand on these user-created features. That may be because the footage focused on the single-player experience, with multiplayer content potentially planned for a later announcement.
