A former dairy farm in North Somerset will be transformed into a climate-resilient wetland and nature reserve by a leading wildlife charity.
Ebdon Farm, near Wick St Lawrence, has been acquired by Avon Wildlife Trust after the charity received a £5m grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The 44-acre farm will be restored as a wildlife haven, creating new wetlands and supporting nature recovery in North Somerset. Avon Wildlife Trust described the project as the largest initiative it has ever undertaken.
Shelly Easton, from Avon Wildlife Trust, said: “We need to take decisive action and show that there is hope for a nature-positive future for wildlife, farming and people. Ebdon Farm is that beacon of hope.”
