Czinger has introduced the BrakeNode, an advanced integrated brake assembly designed to reduce weight and simplify maintenance. The system combines the brake caliper, suspension upright, and hydraulic fluid passages into a single component manufactured from Czinger’s proprietary aluminum alloy.

Czinger first showed an early version of the BrakeNode at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The integrated brake system has now entered production as standard equipment on the Czinger 21C Spyder.
Compared with conventional brake assemblies, the BrakeNode can reduce unsprung mass by up to 30 percent. The 21C Spyder gains a smaller but still meaningful benefit because the previous 21C already used lightweight, additively manufactured suspension uprights. Even so, Czinger says the BrakeNode cuts an additional 6 pounds (2.7 kilograms) of unsprung mass.
According to Czinger, the BrakeNode is also easier to service than a traditional brake assembly. A drain plug at the bottom allows technicians to remove the hydraulic fluid, while the brake pad is installed from the top and the rotor is angled outward from the side. This design eliminates the need to remove the caliper during routine brake replacement.
The Czinger BrakeNode will be standard on all 30 examples of the 21C Spyder. It will also be available as an option for the 21C HDF and 21C VMax. Czinger says the lightweight integrated brake system can also be retrofitted to existing 21C vehicles.
