Texas has been struck by severe flooding following consecutive days of heavy rainfall, leading to widespread evacuations and water rescues in the affected areas. The storm has notably impacted several counties near the Mexican border, causing the Guadalupe River’s water levels to surge over 8 meters within just an hour. Residents have been urged to evacuate to safe, designated zones, yet thousands are still experiencing power outages. As of now, there have been no immediate reports of fatalities or injuries. It’s worth remembering that last year, the Guadalupe River flooding during the Fourth of July holiday resulted in more than 100 casualties, including 25 children, two counselors, and the owner of Camp Mystic, an all-girls camp located near Kerrville, Texas.
