Improvement work is set to begin at Coventry’s Longford Nature Park, enhancing wildlife habitat, biodiversity and public access.
Longford Nature Park is a valued conservation area designated by Coventry City Council as being of critical importance to the city’s natural environment.
Planned improvements include installing a new boardwalk across muddy sections, removing litter and creating a shallow wetland habitat to support local wildlife.
The Longford Nature Park project is being funded through Section 106 contributions, which developers pay to the council as part of major development projects in the area.
Councillor Patricia Heatherton said the improvements would help protect the park’s existing biodiversity while making it easier for residents and visitors to connect with nature.
“Green spaces like Longford Nature Park play a vital role in supporting our health and wellbeing,” she added.
